I was not his biggest fan prior to 9/11, but his leadership when that happened, standing on a pile of rubble with one arm around a fire fighter and the other holding a bullhorn telling “them” that “they’ll hear from us” is something I’ll never forget. And when baseball opened back up, with the first game at Yankee Stadium, remembering him strutting to the mound and firing a perfect strike still gives me chills. (For those who have not seen the back story on that pitch, click HERE for the clip. It’s well worth the four minutes). And finally, perhaps most importantly, because of his friendship with Michelle Obama - An example of how we all should behave, especially now.
